BERNARD BARRÉ

Bernard Barré has a degree in human sciences from the CEGEP Bourchemin. Also graduated in sports science and level V of the National Coaching Certification Program, he was the first Quebecer all sports included to reach that level. An amateur boxer from 1977 to 1981, he was also the founder of the St-Hyacinthe amateur boxing club in 1979. He was also the head coach of the Quebec amateur boxing teams from 1985 to 1988 and assistant coach of the Canadian amateur boxing team from 1986 to 1988.


He was employed by the Quebec federation of Olympic boxing (FQBO) from 1985 to 1998 as a technical coordinator, director of development programs, technical director and finally, deputy CEO.


In professional boxing, he was the technical director of Interbox, a professional boxing management company from 1998 to 2004 before going with GYM, where he is a partner and the vice president of operations and recruitment.


He is also a television analyst since 1986. His coverage of the Olympic Games in Atlanta, Sydney, Athens, Beijing and London are the events he is most proud.
